Default Can the newest PS2 be modded?

sponsored links

My old PS2 (v1) that I had a neokey in, was stolen during a move, I want to get another.

I've been surfing and searching, but I'm outof touch already with what's out there. I know there are many versions, but if I get any PS2 off the shelf at Target or Toys R US will I be able to mod it?

I'd love a no swap mod that plays DVD-r as well.

Thanks
Mark F

yeh... magic and apple chips are best apparently.. but older neo 2.2s etc cant be.. and magics/apples are hard to do (23 wires) but are no swap

thats what ive picked up form being on here.. im probably wrong, there are many other clones too, but apparently its best to not bother with these

Yes, the v7 works GREAT with the new non-swap mods. Any version you buy new in a store will work, but look for SPCH-39001 for a v7.

Default silly sony!

whats up with sony bringing these enw versions out?? whats the point??

it seems to me that every time its done BETTER modchips are released... maybe you cant use a neo 2.2 etc on a v7.. but then thats not the top one in the market anymore... from what ive heard V3 is the hardest to chip, and V7 dont look all taht bad (compared to the V3 etc) so whats up with that!!

The Point if the new PS2's are there better, better parts, lasers, less problems, and more.
