Question Hows the quality of PS2 backups???

sponsored links

If anyone has the time for the newbie.

Hows the quality in PS2 cdrs?
Hows the quality in PS2 DVDRs?

I just want to know because i have a Dreamcast that i play SELFBOOT games, the quality is not that great at all with the audio being scrambled (example: introduction audio in NBA2k2 is messed up)

Hows the quality of the in-the-games graphics to backups and originals?

What are the ups and downs

Thanks in advance!

DVDrs are 100% for me
Dvd games that go to cdr barely work. But if its a cd game to a cd-r, as long as you buy from one guy and it works, continue to buy from same guy. I havent had a major problem yet. (Knock on wood)

I've never had a problem with CDR backups on my modded PS2. Sometimes the voice commentary or movies are taken out of a DVD rip, but that is no fault of the PS2 or mod chip. Keep in mind that the sony laser is crap, so you'll have better luck using higher quality media. I use nothing but Verbatim Premium Datalife Plus and have never had a problem (besides being more expensive)...

DVD-R Copies are 1:1 copies of Silver bottomed games. These simply work great.

CD-R Copies can be 1:1 copies of blue bottomed games, or dvd-rips. Meaning some things could be missing like sound/videos etc. So some cd-rips are crap.

DvD-R is the way to go, because they are easy on your laser. Also.. there are no SelfBoot PS2 games. You will need a modchip. For you get a Messiah,Phoenix,Magic Modchip 2 or something. These chips don't require you to swap!
