Default mp3 stuttering on slow computer!

sponsored links

I tried everything from winamp to mp3 players that claim to work fine on 486 computers!!
I have 150mhz P1 and 80mb of memory!
When playing an mp3 on winamp, the whole system slows down conciderably. If i don't touch anything, it won't skip. But if i even just move the mouse back and forth for like 2 seconds, it starts stuttering. And the "less heavier" playes that were only 200k stuttered even more every time i moved the mouse...
The best so far is windows media player that came with windows 98SE...version 6.4 i beleive.. I can play mp3s and still do some things on the desktop. If i move the mouse fast, only after like 2 seconds it starts skipping. Other ones do it after less than a second.

Any suggestions? I know playing mp3s slow a computer down (a slow computer) but should slow it down that much!!!
plz help!
Noam

didn't help at all unfortunatly. I put it on mono insead of stereo and it helped but i'm still not happy. I should be able to have it on stereo and have it never skip at all.
My parent's computer is a 233mhz and never ever skipped nomatter what i did on the desktop. And i have 80megs of ram and they - only 66mb.
I heard that winamp2.80 is much more demanding than the previouse version. Is there a place i can download the previouse version?
thanks

I've tried the previous version on a P-166 and it skipped like hell! You can download v.2.70 [url=ftp://ftp.malawi.net/downloads/pub/winamp27_full.exe]here.

Talking

I have some old Winamp versions lying around on my HD, 2.24, 2.60 or something. Not sure, since I am at work right now.
(Hello to my boss, BTW! )
If you want it, please mail me.
