in a way yeah

because sometimes when games are done too fast the ps2 often finds it harder to read so it will be makein the laser work hard to read the the disk.
so when done at a slower speed the ps2 can read them better!!

hope that answered your question m8

Well unless you burn it extremely fast there shouldn't be a problem. 8x is a good speed to burn at

I can't say that I have tried it with PS2 but on a PSX I made copies of FF8 (I think it was 8 LOL, been a while). At various speeds, 1X, 2X, 4X, 8X, and 12X (the fastest at the time). The results were exactly as you would expect. All speeds worked but the faster you burn, the slower they read and the harder the laser works. the biggest difference was from 4X to 8x where the loading time went from 15 seconds to over 30 seconds... 1X was around 10 I think. I can tell you this, my friends and I use black memorex burned at 1X for PS2. One guy bought a PS2 the day it came out and chipped it with a NEO 2 and plays HOURS every day and no bad laser. In fact, none of us have ever had laser probs so... in the end the time you save in burning will increase your load times and increase the chance of your laser failing....
