Unhappy XBox Media Player will not Play DivX

sponsored links

I am unable to play DivX using XBox Media Player, please help!!

System History:
Hardware: XBox chipped w/XIOS
Software: Loaded Goldberg Pkg V2--EvoX, boXplorer, etc. from TDK CDRW
..............Loaded XBox Media Player from TDK CDRW

Here are the steps I am using to play the DivX:

Open XBox Media Player and see the XBMP skin with "No Info" icon.
Press B to go back one folder, and see the following on the XBMP screen:
>d:
e:
f:
Press A when > cursor is flashing next to d:, and see the following on the XBMP screen:
>training.day.divx.dvdrip.cd1.avi
Press A when > cursor is flashing next to training.day.divx.dvdrip.cd1.avi, and television screen goes black and the DivX never plays.
Here's the file data for the DivX file using boXplorer:
d:\Training.Day.DIVX.DVDRip.CD1.avi 656.291.840 MB
Please advise what I can do to play DivX using XBox Media Player, and let me know if more details are needed.

I havent run into one that didnt work so far...

Try renaming the file, instead of training.day.divx.dvdrip.cd1.avi abbreviate it, make it trainingcd1.avi

Somtimes the problem lies in that, so try renaming it to what I told you.

Well since it says CD1, it's probably a VCD source. It needs to be DiVX and not VCD.

Was able to get a 30 minute Crank Yankers (???? MB) to work last night; however, still no success in getting a 1.5-2hr DivX Movie (659 MB) to work.

Renamed filename to 8 characters and unable to get it to run from the d:\ drive, but trying to copy from d:\ to e:\DivX\ right now. It appears to be taking a while and the progress meter is showing no status--have to wait and see.

Has anyone been able to get a 1.5-2 hr DivX Movie to work using XBox Media Player?

I have NEVER connected my PC to the XBox as I used boXplorer that was loaded using Goldberg Pkg V2. When copying d:\DivXMov.avi (649 MB) to E:\DivX (4.85 MB Free 4.881 MB Used) received and error stating there was insufficient disk space. How can this be? Any suggestions on what to try next?
