How do I get around this: My DVD Player will only play VCDs on CDRW!

I can't play VCDs on CDR directly on my Panasonic DVD Player.

I have to first burn the VCD onto CDRW.

Then I can watch the film on my DVD Player
This is because my DVD player will only read CDRWs and not CDR!

Is there any way around this?

IS there any way that I can make my Panasonic DVD Player read VCDs on CDR?

Other than buying a separate VCD Player!

It is a real faff having to burn the VCD to CDRW every time I want to watch a film! As you can imagine!

Looking forward to hearing from anyone who can shed some light on the problem

Thank you for your help

Cheers

Rob

Have you tried a lot of different CD-R brands? I used to have this DVD player from General Electric that would only play VCDs if they were burnt one one particular brand of CD-R (in this case, prime periphreals brand from office max). Check the DVD reviews at vcdhelp.com and see what others say, otherwise, do what I did and trash your old player for a dirt cheap Apex model.

Hi DaveMode

Thank you for your comments
The manual for the DVD Player says that it will only play CDRW and not CDR and it also says this on vcdhelp.com.
But I suppose you never know! It might work if I try different brands!?

Cheers

Datasafe branded CDR media will play on most dvd players even if they don't support CDR.

Buy a new DVD player. Thats what I did. I've got a Panasonic DVDRV25, plays multiregion DVD's and VCD silvers fine, but anything burnt on CDR, it falls flat on its face.

Hi Kaizerboy

I have tried all my Datasafe Branded Media CDR on it and they don't work!
