Default 106 quick question

sponsored links

can anyone answer these
1. what the best firmware at moment (mines is 1.06)
2.is it best to have 106 as second master
3.which software is best(using rnm 4.61)
also a quick question on media
i bought a load of x4 white tops at 75p each
but when i put then in and try to record at x4 it takes about 24mins per disc,
also 1 in 3 dont finish burning and i am left with costers.
when i put speed to x2 then record fine but on certain players, ie ps2 ,at the end of the films it start to lose pictures and cant finish film or get to last chapter
do you think this is why i cant get my 106 to record at x4
as all setting are ok ie dma enabled, set as sec master etc

i heard ritek dvd-r are the best,im i better getting branded one or are white top and sliver top just as good
also when using nero info tool
it says my read speed is 32x and write speed is x16 does this sound correct
cheers makey

The best firmware imo is the hacked 1.07 one from ********pioneerdvd.rpc1.org it removes the 2x rip speed limit and it makes the drive region free

I think it is probaly best to have it as secondary master.

The dvd drive taking 24mins to burn is probaly down to bad media.

Ritek dvd-r are deff the best disks imo never had any probs burning or reading in standalone dvd players or ps2, either branded or unbranded should be fine.

Nero info tool saying the read speed is 32x and write speed is 16x is most likely the cd writing speeds.
