Unhappy Cannot play CD+G cds on my laptop

sponsored links
I am basically a computer dummy , meaning that I know my way around programs, but absolutely nothing about programming. I have a Toshiba Tecra A-9 with a Matshita DVD-RAM UJ-850S. I would like to play CD+G discs through my laptop, but so far I am unable to. This is what happens when I load the cd into my karaoke software:

-The tracks & playtimes load but the tracks are only listed as "Track 01," etc.
-When I press play or record, the time counter activates as if the song is playing, but I hear no sound and see no graphics (a.k.a. the words).

Is there a driver I can download to make this work? If not, what can I do in order to play these cds through my laptop?
