Default Dvd Rom Problem

sponsored links

I cannot use my rom drive to read disks in recording software > When i fist built the computer i could put a disk in my samsung dvd rom and use either nero or prassi to do a copy of the disk but now when i install the disks in the rom drive they come up as being completely full and when the dvd writer starts to write it spits the disk out and says not enough space on disc. But when you click on my computer and run the pointer over the dvd rom drive it will come up with 3.90GB on disk but if you use the writing software it says something like 44980 MB can anyone help.

Windows XP Pro
AMD Athlon XP2000
512 MB sdram
80Gb harddrive
Pioneer A04 DVD Burner
Samsung DvD Rom
samsung CD writer
