Default web page opening in new window - how to set new window size

sponsored links

i want a link on my web page to open a new window up with info in it, but want to specify the size of the new window, and to have only a minimise/maximise and exit on the title bar as opposed to having a new internet explorer window open - if possible i would like to do this in frontpage 2000, but open to opinions..

You need javascript, something like this should do it:

<script language="Javascript" type="text/javascript">
function newW(name) {
newwindow = open(name, 'window1', 'width=450,height=300,scrollbars=no, menubar=no, toolbar=no, status=no, resizable=no');
}
</script>

Then for the html link use:

<a href="javascript:newW('window');">Click here</a>

Is that what you're after?

i want the link from an image, so i assume that i replace 'click here' with
'xyz.jpg'.
if i want multiple links from one page do i just repeat the last line?

also how do i put in an image and text into the new window?

Sorry it should read:

<a href="javascript:newW('file.html');">Click here</a> and replace file.html with whatever page you want to open in the window.

As for an image link you can just replace 'click here' with <img src="image.gif" .......> like you would for any image.

Yes you can use it as many times as you like.

Note: I've changed the code slightly in my original reply.

managed to get the pop-up window working, but can't get the image link working..i put the first bit of code in the 'head', but not sure where i integrate the
<a href="javascript:newW('file.html');"><img src="image.gif"></a>
code..when i put it in the 'body' i get a small box (looking like a pic not downloaded), and if i click on that i get the window pop-up - i can't get it to pop up from an existing image on the page
