Default problems with zone alarm!!!

i have just downloaded the free version of zone alarm.

but when i get disconnected to the net it wont let me use messager(hotmail) or win mx when i sign back on again.

i ticked the box for a for both of them to be free to the internet but to no joy.

i have to reboot the computer to get it to work again.

can someone please help???

Have you given them server premissions?

yes i have give them server permissions..

even if i close zone alarm down it still wont let me back in.

mate if its the new version of zone alarm then forget about it! I had the new version and it had soooo many problems and bugs. After a week of hair loss, i gave up on it and i am now using sygate which is a lot better. If you really want zone alarm then i suggest u download the previous version, as that was a lot more stable.

Zone Alarm is a great firewall but the new version just has too many issues.

Hope you get your problem sorted.

Hmm oddd I use ZA pro 3 and have no problems at all with it, must be pecular to the free ware version. Sorry this doesnt help you much

If you are having such trouble why not try Sygate? I gave up on ZA myself after being their most loyal advocate. Get it here:-

Another excellent one I'm trying at the mo is Outpost which seems great, get that from:-

Or there's Kerio which is very good but a bit harder to set-up compared with the first two. Get that here:-

There are free versions of all the above on these sites.
