Default Has anyone ever heard of this????

Hello, I have heard from a friend that there is supposed to be a way to hook up an internet ready phone to your pc and access the internet through your cell phone. He said that this way is supposed to be very fast. Of course he heard this from someone else and neither one of us know if it is true or how it exactly works. I was wondering if anyone has heard of this? If so, could you please tell me what I would need to make it work or send me to an informative web site. I have searched about this subject without any luck.

Thank You.

I'm not totally an expert on this but yes it exists and I believe it can transfer maybe twice the speed of a conventional 56k modem. That's because cell phones are not restricted by the FCC and therefore will allow maximum bandwidth.

I don't know about desktop....but I just got an email from Motorola.com (I just bought the v60 cell phone) saying that they have this new cable that you can hook up your cell to a laptop and get fast connections because of the gsm network

You almost expect a newbee (or Handyguy) to do that, but not a Veteran!
