Default 007 Nightfire

sponsored links

When making a backup of my game 007 nightfire using the latest cd clone, the cd copys fine, but when you insert the backup to play the game i am told to insert the correct cd. can anyone tell me why cd clone has not made an exact copy and the system is detecting that this is not an original disc

cheers

I believe it is protected with SafeDisc2. I guess either you did not use the correct settings for your hardware or you are trying to run the copy in a CDRW drive without using something to block the ATIP check.

Anyway, I'm moving this to the VGB forum.

Hmmm, also what version of Clone CD are you running?? Because I would think that the game is protected with SD v2.8 which many versions of CloneCD can't copy.

As far as I know SD v2.8 can be backed up fine using CloneCD. The settings depend on your hardware... You may need to have amplify weak sectors enabled for writing or even emulate weak sectors, but Clone CD can copy it.

You could also try Alcohol or BlindWrite as alternatives.

Version 4.2.0.2: 2002 12 04
 • Made "Locked Buffer IO" the default, as older versions of the Intel Application Accelerator driver fail otherwise
 • ElbyCDIO Control now has "XP Look"
 • Data profile had "Emulate Weak Sectors" enabled as default.
 • Fixed hang of setup program under Windows 9x (box version only)
 • Added new languages: Lithuanian, Macedonian
 • Updated language files: Greek, Spanish, Catalan
