Question How to speed up computer? plz look in... [Packard Bell; ; win98]

What hardware can i buy in order to speed up my computer? do i need to buy a new hard-drive, a new processor, i dont really have good knowledge of computers so i dont really know. can someone plz tell me what hardware i can buy in order to make my computer faster. thanks guys. BEN

There are numerous ways of doing it but from a hardware point of view a lot depends on the limitations of your motherboard. Primarily you're looking at a faster processor and more memory but as I say, you are limited by your motherboard.

I notice you have a Packard Bell....good luck !!!

with a Packard Bell motherboard you can probley only upgrad the ram a bit, and get a new hard disk, that would make a small difference, but a new cpu would be the best

What is your current system spec and pc model numbers or refs.

When we have this we can check with the manufac main site to see it's max upgrade potential to see if it is worth bothering. Usually ram can make a remarkable difference on an older pc and is currently very cheap.
