I read the post to the problem. I want to know if you have to use the orginal authentic disk? Or can I use my authentic xp pro disk. These are not bootleg copies.

if i took what you wrote wroung, sorry about it

it my knowledge if your repairing their should be no issue with the disk, but if you use a different disk you may have update issues (windows updates).

A different disc makes no difference, as long as it's the same version. (For example, XP Pro or Home etc.)

All you need is your Product Key as it will ask you during the Repair process to enter it, so the disc is irrelevant, they are all the same.

Default Wga

Depending what you do with the CD, you may be unable to go threw Windows Genuine Advatage Updates and depending on genration of disc it will not accept the orignal product key. its just a warning, just in case.

What do you mean and what else can you do with the disc? We are talking about a repair as you stated in your original post?

"you may be unable to go threw Windows Genuine Advatage Updates and depending on genration of disc it will not accept the orignal product key"

If the disc is the same version as you have installed (as I explained), the product key will be fine.

A repair does NOT affect WGA, as long as the product key is legit.

It wouldn't even matter if it was a different key, as long as it's for that version and legitimate.
