Default high color & true color

sponsored links

I just got a new DELL laptop & I put Windows 2000 Professional on it. I had to adjust the color settings, but I noticed there is "high color" & "true color" to pick from in the display settings. I read some stuff in the help section & the way I understand it is I guess true color gives you 16million colors while high color gives you 65000. It also says 'true color' can require more resources from your computer. I didn't really see a difference so I just put it on 'high color', but is there really any advantage or disadvantage of one over the other?

Not to the naked eye. The human eye can't detect anymore than high colour.

I really depends on your system. If your system can run using true colour without a performance decrease, then use it.

Otherwise, high colour is fine.
