Question kids and firewall (broadband)

I have never let my kids go on internet unsupervised. But i just got broadband Telewest and it is open all the time. within 2 mins my son had a **** site for my home page and a virus.
Using nortons internet security and fire wall
Windows 98se

Is there a way to block my kids from internet or will i have to password my computer. Which i rather not do, they play on games and use word.

Or is it just possible to give them access to certain files.
I heard it can be done on XP but i like my 98

Thanks in advance

Cheers SMID

Yes, you can block interenet access. With ZOneAlarm, you can stop all internet traffic at the push of a button. With almost any firewall, you can cut off outside access I have not used Norton Internet Security in ages, but I think you can do it easily. If someone who use NIS could reply with instructions, that would be great. If not, I will install it and find out how. Search the Help in NIS and I would bet you can find something.

Good Luck!

Yep, as Zack said Norton IS has a **** blocker built into it. Take a look at the settings, you have a checkbox there to enable/disable it.
