The HD video recording function helps you perfectly capture every moment of tears and laughter in your life and keep the unique memory forever. Have you got one H.264 MOV Camera? In fact, the H.264 codec is not a perfect editable format for Final Cut Pro, but Apple ProRes is. If you have got MOV videos from Nikon/Canon camera and suffered the headache from dealing with these files, the program MOV to ProRes Converter for Mac will get you out of trouble. With it, you not only can easily transcode H.264 to Apple ProRes 422, ProRes 4444 for Final Cut Pro on Mac within few clicks. I have used it to comvert many H.264 MOV files on my MacBook. It works fast and it can keep the original quality in 1080 30p/24p.

Guide: Convert Canon/Nikon H.264 MOV recordings to Final Cut Pro with highest settings.

Step 1: Run the professional H.264 MOV Video Converter on Mac OS X. Click "Add" button to add the H.264 files into it.

Step 2: Click "Format" bar to choose to the format which you want to convert, you can select "Final Cut Pro" > "Apple Prores 422(.mov)" as output format.

Step 3: Adjust video and audio parameters in Profile Settings, where you can get by clicking Settings icon. You’d better set the video frame rate as 30fps, video size as 1920*1080 to keep the best quality for editing in FCP without quality loss.

When the conversion process shows in 100%, you can get the resulted file from output folder for importing to FCP effortlessly.

Tips and tricks for the H.264 to ProRes Mac conversion:
1. If you have multiple 1080p MOV files you can tick the “Merge into one” box to combine the multiple video files into one single file so that you can play these files without interruption.
2. If you prefer smaller file size, please choose “Apple ProRes 422 (LT) (*.mov)” instead. The “Apple ProRes 422 (Proxy) (*.mov)” format offers file size at SD levels and is recommended for 480i/p and 576i/p shootings.
3. If you wanna shut down the computer after the conversion automatically, just click Option and tick the box “Shut down the computer after conversion” before conversion starts.
