Default drives not recognized

hmm i have a question.
i dd everything you said and the cd rom still doesnt show. i checked the registry editor and i saw that i dont have the Lower/Upper filters. even when i restarted the computer. i tryed to reinstall my drivers and it still doesnt work

Is the BIOS detecting the drive ?.

If not check that the power plug and data cable are seated correctly, try another power connection and data cable if necessary.

If the BIOS is detecting the drive, look in Device Manager, if it is listed there, right click it and select Delete.

Restart you comp and check if it is now showing in Explorer.

yes bios is detecting the drive and i already deleted the drive in file manager. but it still doesnt work. any other suggestions?

Is it showing in Explorer ?.

Have you tried doing a System Restor to a date before this started ?.

Did you Delete/installed any programs before this started to happen ?.

Have you tested the drive in another comp to see if it is OK there or not.

And what operating system are you using.
