Unhappy MSN Messenger File Sending Problem! [; ; winME]

sponsored links

Hey,

I seem to have got a bad msn problem...

Whenever I try to send or recieve a file it just doesnt do anything and finally cancels...

I havnt got a firewall that i know of - However I did setup a network between my laptop and pc not so long ago, not sure if this might relate to the problem?

MSN VERSION = 5.0.0543

Thanks,

Ango.

you could try using [url=www.trillian.cc]Trillian, i know this doesn't resolve your problem. But this messenger's great and compatible with loads of other IMs

Yeah, I used Trillian once before - But find MSN much easier to use, and all my m8s use msn anyway.

Thanks for the advice anyway!

Are you connecting to the web via a router? If so, this could be the problem. I can't send files either, use a webcam or voice chat using msn because of my router. If I'm correct, there's no point configuring the router to allow my mates ip addresses to connect to mine, because their ip addresses are dynamic and change all the time. I wouldn't be able to figure out how to do it anyway!!

don't know if this is true or not. but i read that when using a router you have to open port 569 for msn. if i am wrong disregard anything i said.
