Default Weird problem when making divx movies

sponsored links

When using either program, Flaskmpg or Tmpeg, when i try compressing a video file into divx, the program completely stops after about 2 minutes....

For example, i selec a music video, or a VOB file off of a DVD and choose the divx codec and "flask" it and after 2 minutes it stops completely as if it is done.
I tried doing it with the Xvid codec and still, same problem....

Very weird...
Any suggestions?
PS - I've resintalled both flaskmpeg and tmpeg

Thanks
Noam

You use TMPGEnc for AVI's?? I know it can save out AVI's, but I would never use it for that, unless it was to convert a format such as WMV.

Flask is old and crappy, try using VirtualDubMod or at least XMPEG. You could also try something like GordianKnot to help automate the process for you.

Because XMPEG is also crappy. Have you tried VirtualDubMod? Or even regular VirtualDub?

I've tried vdub. It doesn't work good. When I select the divx codec and mp3 for audio, the file after about 5 seconds gets to be about 50mb!!!!
It's insane!!!!

Well it is using the same codecs that any other program would. Personally I encode my audio (ogg vorbis) seperately.
