Default Mac to PC help

sponsored links

I have a workgroup on a proxy server in my dept. I have recently bought a mac with OS10 on and need to link it to our windows network.

I can see the workgroup and all computers on MAC but cannot link up?? Any ideas, our network guys have never seen a MAC never mind hooked one up!

I am going through message boards trying to find out but no luck, it should do it automatically with OS10.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I am not an expert

I think if you point your name server address to the proxy or use the proxy address as the ip address or change the settings in the internet options in Internet explorer to use the proxy address and it might work

You can try Try using Dave

look specifically here

Update

Also try this I read in a forum on Macnn
You just need to tell all your Internet-aware programs to use the proxy you want. In Internet Explorer, it's done in the LAN settings dialog, and you can even tell IE which protocols should use what proxy. Other programs have their own methods of identifying the proxy, but it's basically the same idea.
