Question Should I try and solder in a modchip?

Hi, I was wondering how difficult it is to install a modchip, the 9 connector one (X-ecuter 2 I think, its not released yet). See, I have installed 3 modchips in Playstations before, and two of them ended up not running cd's (or something was loose, I didn't know too much about it at the time) and the other one went smooth enough. Do you think I would mess up an X-Box? I don't know if proffesional installation is an option because I don't have much money right now. I want the X-ecuter 2 because I have a version 1.1 and it has more benifits then the matrix. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for me?? Please, if you can help, please do.
