Hi Gooner,

No, I’ve just checked. I have no tasks running at all.

I’ve also downloaded the ‘FIXBLAST.EXE’ from Symantec. It removed the MSBLAST.EXE file from C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\.

My 'FIXBLAST.LOG' looks something like this:-

The process "MSBLAST.EXE" is viral. It is terminated.

Deleted the value "windows auto update" from the registry key
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Cur rentVersion\Run".

The tool has deleted the viral file "C:\WINDOWS\system32\msblast.exe".

W32.Blaster.Worm has been successfully removed from your computer!

Here is the report:

The total number of the scanned files: 16730
The number of deleted files: 1
The number of repaired files: 0
The number of viral processes terminated: 1
The number of registry entries fixed: 1

Could it be that the internet is just slow tonight? I’ve tried re-booting. I’ve also tried dialling out on a different number.

Let me know.

As you have run the fixblast I cannot think what else it might be - It could be that the WWW is just slow tonight like you said but then again it might be something else - I cannot think what else it might be at this moment in time - I suppose you can just see if your connection improves over the next 24hrs or so - or has onyone else that has applied the M$ patch noticed a substantial loss in speed?

(Sorry I couldn't help)

Well I've tried to run the patch on my mates pc, but didn't get enough time for it to finish as pc shut down before it even got half way, and this is for the worm remover I'm talking about the patch released by symantec. I havn't tried the microsoft one as windows won't boot any more I get a blue screen every time it boots even in safe mode. What do I do now.

Thx a lot
