Unhappy lost data recovery cdr

sponsored links

ok i have a cdr that is damaged and freezes the computer when my rom tries to read it. i have an evaluation copy of cdr diagnostic but i would need the full version to try and recover the data. Are there any freeware programs similar to cdr diagnostic that will enable me to recover my lost data from my cdr?

ISO buster costs USD20 to get the CDRW UDF function, good value in my opinion.

Hi there,

You might want to take a look at

CDCheck
"CDCheck is a utility for the prevention, detection and recovery of
damaged files on CD-ROMs with an emphasis on error detection. With
CDCheck you can check your CDs and discover which files are corrupted.
By using the program proactively, you can insure that your data on
CD-ROMs are safe -- before it's too late! CDCheck provides the
following features: readability verification, binary compare, CRC file
creation (and verification) and file recovery."

or

CDmage

Here are just some of the features it has.

view filesystem of any session (not only last)
display LBA of any file/folder in the filesystem
extract and convert tracks into any compatible supported format
extract files from data tracks
compare files with files burned on the cd or with files on the hd
scan checkable tracks or sector range for corruption (all CDRWin, Nero, CloneCD, BlindRead, DiscJuggler, Gear, NTI CD-Copy, Prassi, Winoncd and Creator images)
change LBA of the data tracks
change volume label and other CD identification data of any session
repair of corrupted sectors (all CDRWin, Nero, CloneCD, BlindRead, DiscJuggler, Gear, NTI CD-Copy, Prassi, Winoncd and Creator images)
rebuild of fields of corrupted sectors - ECC/EDC regen (all CDRWin, Nero, CloneCD, BlindRead, DiscJuggler, Gear, NTI CD-Copy, Prassi, Winoncd and Creator images)
locate content of corrupted sectors

Both Isobuster and CDR diagnostic work on udf formatted disks. I have full versions of both. However, I found that my cd-rom and dvd drive displayed different file structures once the programs had read the disc.

CDR dianostic was able to recover a lot more files, most were ok, some are damaged.

I am having problems now in being able to repair all or some of the damaged files.

I would be grateful if some could point me in the right direction.

dlb.
