Default laptop hard drive [dell ; latitude c400; ]

sponsored links

Hi all, have this dell latitude c400 laptop running on win2k, developed couples of bad sectors in the hard drive, ran scandisk and everything seemed to be back to normal for now, so I ran IBM drive fitness test just to be on the safe side, came out ok. But should I send the laptop back to dell to get them to change the hard drive, even though it's ok now, will they replace my hard drive as it's still under warranty. Anybody got any views on this matter please.. Thank you.

Since all the test are now passing it would be hard to prove that something was wrong. If you send it into Dell they'll probable just test it, see that it's passing (Think that you're just one of those customers who panics everytime something happens) and send it right back to you.

Did the bad sectors go away after you ran Scandisk's surface test ? or the bad sectors stayed, but seem working as normal now ?
