Default setting up dell laptop

i ordered this:
Dell Latitude CPx Pentium III 500 mhz laptop

CPU Type: Intel Pentium III

CPU Speed: 500MHz

RAM Type: 144pin SDRAM SODIMM

Standard RAM: 128MB

Video RAM: 8MB SGRAM

Video Type: 64-bit hardware accelerated, AGP 2x support

Video Controller: ATI Mobility M1

Display 14.1" TFT Flat Panel Display

Hard Drive: 12GB

Optical Drive: CD-ROM module

Floppy: Floppy module

PCMCIA: 2 Type I or II cards or 1 Type III - Cardbus & Zoom Video support

Audio Type: SoundBlaster software emulation capable

Audio Controller: ESS Maestro 3I interface to an AC97 Codec

Speakers: Integrated Stereo (2 x 8 ohm)

Microphone: Integrated

No operating system is on this laptop, the hard drive has been formatted.

This laptop comes with a battery, power adapter, CD-ROM drive, and floppy drive.




they reformatted the laptop and it doesnt come with a OS....... and i dont know how to fix it up can someone help me???

How do you expect anyone to help you?

If you didn't back up, you'll have to buy or obtain a copy of an operating system.

It was sold with no operating system, so you will need to provide one.

I tried to use my OS from gateway windows 98 but it doesnt work good

If it's just a system restore CD, it won't work.

If it's an OEM or full retail copy, it should.

The windows 98 CD should work.

Why can't you install it? (Please provide as much detail as possible)
