Question EPSON stylus 900 problems, XP PRO

Help needed!
I am running Windows XP Pro with all latest upgrades & service packs.
When I try to install the printer disk diver for the Epson Stylus Photo 900 from the disk this happens.
A window pops up with ,`16 bit Windows Subsystem` in the top left corner of window.
Inside window it say`s C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft
Windows applications. Choose `Close` to terminate the application.
Would the last service pack have anything to do with it?
