Default Getting rid of a Partition?

sponsored links

I have a 40GB hard drive which has 2 partitions on it. The larger partition has Windows XP and the smaller partition consisting of about 3-4GB has Windows 98. How do I get rid of the smaller partition that has Win98 on it and bring those GB's back to my main partition so I could only have 1 partition. Can I do this without having to reformat and partition my hard drive? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You can delete the small partition easily but I'm not certain you can rejoin them back together. If any program can do it then Partition Magic will be the one so try that.

The best way to do it would be to completly format and use FDISK to set up a new partition. Then re-install windows.

Or like The Captain said, try Partition Magic if you don't want to format.

You can certainly perform what you want using Partition Magic 7 within WinXP, however, you will need to convert it to NTFS in the process as WinXP can only format FAT32 partitions up to 32Gb.
