Default Partition problems

sponsored links

I'm trying to partition my main HDD to a 10 Gig partition so I can shift some files over whilst I reformat the other half of it. I'm using Partition Magic 8.0, the problem is, I apply the changes then it reboots windows and then gives me a error saing some file is being used, so when it boots back into windows the partition has not been made.

Is there any other way I can partition this drive other then Partition Magic?

Cheers

Lee

Since you seem to have an unpartitioned drive now, you can also easily partition in Windows Disk Manager. Right-click My Computer > Manage > Disk Management Select your drive and right-click, gives you the option to create a new partition

Why didn't you just create a new partition in PM and then place all the data there, then resize, reformat and merge back?

How are you getting on with it now - at what stage are you and are you still having the same problems?

So you are saying that it will not boot back up?
If so do you have the PM diskettes that you create when installing the app?

If not hav you tried the suggestions above?
