Default Free Market Economy

Supply and demand, all goods are sold at what ever price will generate the maximum profit (within the bounds of a regulated market).

Strange, the cel is about half the price of the p4 in UK, and LFM1986 you obviously haven't had one for a while or you wouldnt say that.

I think that this is just some sort of strange fluke on the part of CompUSA because the Pentium 4 is never cheaper than the Celeron. Besides, no offense to anyone, but most peeps who know exactly what they are looking for don't shop at CompUSA. I didn't check any price engines, but I found a Pentium 4 1.8 GHz for $138. and a Celeron 1.8 GHz for $80. However the P4 has 512k cache and the Celeron only has 256k. Perhaps they think because they use "Pentium 4 Based" before the Celeron, that they think that peeps will pay more for it than it's worth.

Actually if you know how to shop with CompUSA, it's not so bad. I got lots of cheap stuff from them through the special sales like Maxtor 30GB 7200rpm HD for only $35, 48x LiteOn burner for only $29, 16x DVD-ROM for only $26... I just need to check its website a couple of times a week for sales times.

Anyway, I agree the CPU prices don't look right.
