I don't know if this is the right forum for this but I am getting a Pioneer 105 and i was going to buy a load of Datawrite Reds 4X but SVP seems to be out of them so are the Ritek unbranded 4X a good alternative?

I've had good luck with them and have also seen a lot of positive posts on the Ritek 4X DVD-Rs.

4x Ritek would be a MUCH BETTER ALTERNATIVE. No discs have recieved as much praise as the Ritek dye discs. They are well known for working in even the pickiest of DVD players. Either the G03 dye Riteks (1x/2x) or the G04 dye Riteks (the 4x ones you mentioned) would be an excellent choice as they have both been highly praised by those who have used them. If my memory serves me correctly the Datawrite Reds use the Princo dye which works well in most DVD Players but there are still quite a few where they won't read. Definitely go with the Riteks.

Have to agree, 4x ritek all the way, princo 4x are iffy, I got some Ice Branded ones and they are terrible but never had a problem with ritek.
