Is it possible to put your own copy protection on your dvds?

My m8 has just made a dvd and wants to stop a bit of piracy on it.

I think he just wants macrovision of it to stop thick idiots copying it to vhs etc.I know its easy to get past but there still is aload of people out there who have no idea....

I guess legally speaking you would need to license it. Guess you could also if you were so inclined look at some of the publicly available docs or source code for apps which remove it and create some software to add it.

dvdshrink has the option now to keep macrovision.

also dvdxcopy products put protection on, but forget it if you think that no one can copy those too.

You can't keep macrovision if the original doesn't have it and The Phone Guy said that his mate made it, so presumably it doesn't.

hi dvd copy x has its own protection will let you copy a dvd perfect
no menus of course
but when you try to copy that dvd onto another disk its will not let you
comes up write error some kind of protection on the disk

but with this program it does say this dvd is a back up copy at the start
