Default slight success reading gamecube disc

sponsored links

**these are my postings from a gamecube forum***
ive put these on here in the hope that some one has the time involved in trying to make THE FIRST WORKING ISO OF A GAMECUBE DISC.......

may seem a little complicated to understand, but if anyone knows anything about the gamecube workings, or whatever please feel free to reply, i dont really know much about the gamecube, and am just trying anything to make the BACKUP (working iso)

if anyone succeeds, dont forget me...............

slight success reading with a pioneer 106s slot dvd rom drive (firmware 1.22)
ive had to take the top off the drive, so as to fit the game cube disk onto the spindle, you sort of have to flick it over, then push the load arm back and it then (with any luck) grabs the game cube disk, another point, once it grabs the GC disk, it spins it up and yuo can see it react like the gamecube does, (reading from different parts of the disk, this is the software i ve tryed so far

nero (nothing)
prassi primo (will give me the size of the disc, but wont read , it atempts it though)

dvd-decrypter - woo hoo, well it comes up with a few errors, then if you click ignore and tell it to make an iso it will start to read it, comes up with a lot of errors, tell it to ignore read errors, and set the read retry counts to zero, after 45 minutes, it had made an iso file of about 25 meg, had to cancel it though, gonna try again now, its gonna take along time.......

well i havent had time to try again, just thought that i would post so other peeps could try, i thought maybe its like some pc games when trying to copy them (clone) it takes a while for it to get past the errors, which i ve been told that gc game discs have, and that when it got to the error free bit it may read, i`m only trying something out here, in my pionner 105 it wouldnt even read the disc, prassi primo dvd just wouldnt entertain it, but when i put it in the pioneer 106s (firmware 1.22) prassi primo will give me a read out of how big the disc`s are, and they do differ with different games (the volume size), so its got to be a start, also under windows explorer it shows the disc as a cd, al though it wont show the contents..........

well thats what i thought, although i havent written the actual sizes down, there was a difference of about 230 odd meg between mario sunshine and luigis mansion, both were over 1.3 gig anyways....just havent got the time to retry at the minute, hopefully some one else will have time to try.....................

really need to build my collection up

No luck for me i lack the proper tools. If i new what the proper tools are? One idea do you think it might be possible to take the whole mini dvd rom out of the gamecube and somehow attach this to a computer.
