Default "wizard cannot find your network hardware" plz help!

sponsored links

i have winxp sharing internet to a client win98 SE computer thru a LAN.
I ran the wizard on xp, it made me a floppy disk. I ran it on win98 and restarted and the internet sharing works great. It gave my win98 computer a new icon on the right bottom toolbar that is "internet gateway" icon. When i click on it, i can disconnect or connect to the ISP right from the remote computer! Pretty cool.
Recently i uninstalled from win98 computer this program that came with my computer. Found it on add/remove. It's called "commonname" Some internet searching utility i beleive.
Ever since, that cool little gateway icon is gone! When i go - start- accesories - communication - internet gateway, it says this "windows did not find an internet gateway on your network. plz make sure that windows xp internet is enabled and/or an internet gateway with universal plug and play is enabled"
Funny thing is - IT'S STILL SHARING INTERNET JUST FINE. STILL CAN BROWSE INTERNET AND SHARE FILES FROM BOTH COMPUTERS OVER!

So I stuck back that disk in the win98 computer that winxp wizard made. Ran it, It restarted and a wizard came up telling me this:
"This wizard cannot find your network hardware. before using this wizard, you must install and configure your network cards, modems, cables, and device drivers"

And again - internet sharing is still working!

Also - as a note, when i go start - programs - communication - ISDN config wizard it says "no ISDN device found, plz install ISDN device.... "
Don''t know if that ISDN has anything to do with it...

Thanks for your help everyone
Noam
