Default IBM hard drive compatibility?

sponsored links

I have an IBM Deskstar 60Gb hard drive which i have had 2 weeks, when i install Windows 98 the hard drive is so quiet, hardly making a noise even when i create disk activity. But on Windows XP the hard drive makes slight clicking noises from the drive, it does it on disk activity. I have run Drive Fitness Test and that returned no errors, so is it worth staying on XP(which on my last Fujitsu 30Gb hard drive died on) or staying with 98. Has anyone else noticed this on the same hard drive
