Default Building PC help required

sponsored links

I am attempting to build a PC for my sister in law's kids

I ordered a new case Mercury KOB132

I took out my motherboard from an old case, my questions are how can i tell by looking at the motherboard which one it is?

also there are loads of cables to connect from the case to the motherboard (little jumper leads, I havent a clue where they go on the motherboard

Any tips for a newbie please

the mother board will have the make and model printed on it, once you have that do a google search for a manual, when you have downloaded the manual print the diagram off, then connect the cables, the case cables are usually identified as to what is what, ie.. pwr. spkr. Hdrv.

this really should have been a consideration before you bought anything, but good look

what specs were the old system?
