wmp does not always report correct times, esp. when a VBR stream is involved.

Well here is what I do know.

- The video and audio do cover the same "material" (i.e. one doesn't have an extra section that the other doesn't)
- I was too lazy to figure out how to associate the A/V in WMP, but I did call up each in it's own window and play them as simulatneously as I could muster. The delta that I noticed was more than the time it took me between hitting buttons, so that leads me to believe that the two aren't sync'ed. I'm not sure if that is a valid test or not, but that is the best I can do for now

If you agree with that then you'll probably agree that the problem exists in the Smartripper output. I have re-run the program on the same movie with the same result 2 or 3 times.

Please let me know if you know why Smartripper might be doing this, or if you really think I need to re-examine the WMP testing

Thanks for your help

Richardc any ideas?

Pretty new to burning and ripping dvds.

I wanted to keep exact copies of my dvds so i followed your guide using exactly the same method and programs on the guide except after creating the image with nero i burnt it with dvd decryptor which seemed to work fine menus, chapters all intact except about 10 or 15 minutes towards the end of the movies they start jumping and freezing.

Any ideas it's happenend with all the movies i've tried and the size of the file i was burning was always under 4.37gb

I was just reading your non-strand dvd conversion and I must say it
is excellent! (=

I followed it to a T but I am having a problem at just one point.

I cannot get the colors from the original IFO (subtitles) to copy to
the new ifo I made. They end up green and bolded and very dark. I
was wondering if I could just manually input the subtitles to be
yellow or white with a black outline.

I am using smart ripper 2.41 then IFO 0.95.

I rip all the files to my HD then I order them then make the ifo then
match the audio streams then I try to copy the pgc (color for subtitles) but when i paste into the new ifo, nothing changes.

Please help

I just bought my first dvd burner yesterday and I have a few questions. Im trying to copy a dvd movie via your dvd2one tutorial. I have SmartRipper and DVD2one, but when I launch smartripper I get an error message that reads "no ASPI adapter available" after that I click "ok" I get another error message which reads " some files are still locked! try to unlock with a player". What do I need to do to resolve this problem? Im just starting to learn this so any info/help would be great. Thanks

You need to unlock with a player like the message suggested. Open the movie with PowerDVD, etc. and then play it for a few mins, then try again.
