Unhappy Hard Drive/BIOS problem - need help please

sponsored links

A friend of mine is having a problem with his new HDD ... here's what he had to say ...

Quote:
Need help m8.
Server has gone down like a bag of sh$t.

Problem :-

120Gig hard drive installed....windows reports 31gig used 87gig available.
Pheonix bios is reporting HD as being 30gig.
Everytime Rork logs on to upload....system says "unable to write to drive D: " and shuts down.
Several weeks ago ran bioswizard....claims to support large volume harddrives.....maybe not ...i don't know.

All help and any ideas would be welcome.
Not sure if he needs to flaash the BIOS (or even if he there is a valid update) or what. Could use some assistance though. Thanx in advance.

* EDIT: before anyone asks ... disk is not partitioned ... that's why the BIOS gets my solid vote. but i always like to hear different opinions.

OK, I guess people want me to search the forums on past topics. lol anyway, more info here on his PC ....

PhoenixBIOS 4.0 Release 6.0
Intel Whitney 82810 Rev 3 Chipset

and on the mobo ...

Anaheim-2/2A/3 Micro ATX (ATX V1.2 form factor) motherboard, TriGem, Korea Intel Socket-370 (370pin FC-PGA Socket) for Intel FC-PGA Celeron CPUs Integrated graphics controller Intel FW82810 core and ITE8702F Super I/O controller Crystal CS4280/CS4281 built-in Sound Blaster Pro, MPC-3, MPU-401 compatible Audio Enhanced Stereo full duplex operation.

Phoenix doesn't supply updates so I am going to hunt around for them but if anyone can offer up a site they know offhand that doesn't charge (which is bull, how can they charge?!), please speak up. thanx again.
