Default windows nt desk top issues

sponsored links

my desk top icons, (AutoCAD 2000, Windows Explorer, and Windows Media Player) that have a picture of the recycle bin overtop the original icon for that application. i deleted them, and made new desk top short cuts, and get the same result. it looks as if i have 2 icons on top of each other. i rebooted and toyed around, still no joy.

no matter what type of shortcut i make, i get the appropriate icon, but it still puts a picture of the recycle bin over top of it. even the icons that are normal on my desk top, if i copy them, the news ones will have a picture of the recycle bin over top of them. most confusing

again - this is my work computer. i am running
windows NT 4.0
pIII - 800 mhz
256 meg memory
32 mg video card (not sure what brand)

any help would be appreciated
