Convert & Edit Your MTS Videos for Sharing in Motionbox

I have recorded many interesting videos with my new HDR TG3 Camcorder and I was wondering earlier that how I could edit and smaller my videos for sharing in motionbox with my family and friends. Although mts files are fully supported by motionbox, as a basic member, I think it would be better to convert my videos to mp4 format with smaller size. Talking about converting & editing tools, the software bundled in the HDR TG3 specification is more geared to cataloguing and searching your video archive, rather than an editing suite. Luckily there are free and low cost video editing online services and software to polish up my videos. So after a little research, I decide to use Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter. It doesn't cost much but editing functions are easy to use and it perfectly converts my mts files to mp4 format with high quality and fast conversion speed.

PART I: Save MTS/M2TS files to PC

You can simply connect your HDR TG3 pocket camcorder to your PC via the USB cable HDR TG3 Specification. The HDR TG3 will be recognized as a hard-drive. It's then a simple process to download your video, either through Sonyís software or by simply navigating to the HDR TG3 Ďhard-driveí to access the memory stick.

PART II: Converting MTS to MP4

After you successful save your mts files to your PC, itís time to convert your videos to motionbox supported video format! Check the instruction below for converting mts files to mp4 based on my own experience.

Step 1: Load MTS/M2TS files to MTS Converter

Load your MTS/M2TS files to the program by clicking "Add" button in the menu bar.

Step 2: Edit MTS/M2TS files

"Editor" button in the menu bar supports special editing functions, like cropping, trimming, adding text/video/image watermarks, replacing audio, removing interlaces and so on. So with the converter tool, you are allowed to add your personal watermark for protecting your own recordings when sharing the videos in web.

Step 3: Choose MP4 as output format.

Click Format drop-down list, you can see different choices of video & audio format according to different catalogues such as Common Video, Common Audio, iPod, Apple TV, PSP/PS3, etc. In my case, I simply choose H.264 video(.mp4) format in Common Video cataloguef or uploading the files to motionbox.

PART III: Upload MP4 to Motionbox

6. Choose your privacy settings.
7. If you have groups or playlists, you can add your video to either.

(Note: Basic members can upload videos of up to 300mb each. Premium members which cost 39.99 USD per year will have no limits on video file size or storage space, but itís recommended to use the Motionbox Express Uploader if the video you are uploading is large or you have any issues with the web uploader.)

Now congratulations! Youíve successfully converting your mts files from your camcorder and share them in motionbox with your family and friends. Have fun!
