Default repairing bad .mpg streams

sponsored links
is there a tool for doing this? I have converted some mpg files to dvd with tmpgenc dvd author and a few have locked up whilst playing once burnt. I assume this is cause the stream has errors amd tmpgenc isn't picking them up or just skipping them.
Is there a tool to correct a stripped mpg file or could the file be fixed by re-encoding?
I have looked around on vcdhelp and doom9 but not come across an answer.

thanks for any help/tips
