Default bought a laptop with 128mb ddr memory, do I need more??

Hi friends, I just purchased a laptop with 128mb of ddr:

HP laptop ze1401
Amd XP 1500
XP home edition
dvd drive
128mb ddr memory

I works fine, but I remember reading that XP OS would be best suited with 256 mb memory. Currently, I am sharing my memory with my video card, so the lap top is showing, I believe, 109mb.

Do I need more memory and what would be the benefit of putting more memory in? I'm just doing word documents and watching dvd movies and surfing the web on wireless broadband. No gaming or encoding stuff, just plain everyday things. As always, thank you

Do you feel like it needs more?
If you're doing fine, then keep 128mb
But you can upgrade to 256 or more, it's up to you
And To Me, IMO, I'd take 256
I've notice XP runs best on 256 and more.
But that's my opinion.

It seems that 16MB has been shared with video so I would say you should be fine (both watching DVD movies & doing your stuff).

Never have too much memory mate, as things progress with your new laptop thins will slow down, i've got a p4 2Ghz with 512 Mb DDR, if you can afford it then upgrade it, don't just wait for it to slow down before thinkin you might want more, get it now!!
