Default Should I download the AVI's or convert the DVDS?

should i download the avis of stargate (about 350 a episode) and convert them to VCD or should i convert the dvds im borrowing of my friend?

Will converting the AVI make the picture look worse?

The quality will be better off of a DVD. DVD is the best possible quality source, so you will get the best quality result.

even though the AVI's are dvd rips?

Yes. The cleaner the source the better.

Some DVD's of TV shows are pretty bad transfers though, however if that was the case here then the DVDRip AVI's would be just as effected.
