Default Compac s400nx crashed

sponsored links

This comp has no recovery disc with it. I have a harddrive with win98 on it
but it will not work correctly because the comp came with winxp. I am
assuming it is something in the mb that requires xp drivers that the win98 drivers won't
work. Is there a way around this? Any help appreciated!
Thanks in advance

you cant install a HDD that has win98 already installed on it from one comp to another, due to the fact that the mobo and hardware will not be the same as the one it was originaly used in.

You will need to get an XP disc that has the same version of XP that the faulty comp has instaled home/pro etc.

Then you can try to do a recovery etc.

Thanks for replying!! I have the disc on order. I figured that
was the only way short of changing the mb.
Thanks again!!
