Default Getting a lot of pop ups!

Hi,
I have been getting a lot of pop up recently, i just thought that it was the odd site, now it happening in loads, scaned with ad-aware a few time but still happening,
I dont really want one of those pop up stopper things as it still means the thing will be still running on my pc, so anyway i can find it and remove what ever is doing this?

Do the following:

"Start"--->"Run"--->"Services.msc"---->"Messenger"

Right Click on it and select "Properties"

Change the "start up type:" to "Disabled"

Then under the "servies status" click "stop"

Then Click "apply" then "ok" and your set.

Need local Admin rights

The latest version of the google toolbar (2.0 beta) has a popup stopper, plus the convience of easy searches.

alos if you have a firewall (such as zonealarm, or norton PW) then they have popup blockers built in
