Angry Can't burn CD-R's

sponsored links

My cd burner will not burn cd-r's for some reason! It starts the process, then I get a series of messages that name a whole series of problems, then it stops.

I saved the log that was generated, can someone help me?
My burner is an Optorite CD-RW CW5205 and I am trying to burn TDK 'd-view' 800mb disks with Nero Burning ROM 5.5.10.6 and InCD 4.3.0.5

Here is the log:

Exclamation Re: My Last Post

Additional information:

My CD-ROM is also showing any CD in it as CD-RW, even if it is only CD-R! No ideas yet as to what the problem is.

update Nero, yours is way out of date..

Get some different brand of CDR this error:
02:59:14 #20 MMC -1106 File Writer.cpp, Line 333 Power calibration error

Is usually associated with poor media/disc

Thumbs down Have tried different types

Thanks for your response. I know that my Nero is way out of date, but it was working.

Now I have these problems, and Nero always shows the CD-R that I want to burn to as a CD-RW. After that I get the problems mentioned above.

I have tried other media, no success. But it works no problem when I want to use a CD-RW, even with 'drag and drop''. Couls it be the burner itself? I don't think so if it will still do CD-RW's.
Any suggestions?

Im not sure if the burner would choose a different way of self calibration for a CDRW, it may do, however, a power calibration error could be the burner becoming faulty as you suggest, the burner has to look at the CDr prior to burning it in order to determine how much power to supply to the laser in order to cut the disc,

normally associated with sh!te media, it could also be the burner, you're correct, try updating nero first, and then consider if you have installed anything post the burning problem occuring
