Default Wireless Networking Problems

sponsored links

Ok i have a main PC, a pc in my room, and a laptop. I have the main PC connected to cable internet with a linksys router 4 switch 802.11b 2.4ghz. And a linksys wireless PCMCIA card on the laptop that hooked up to the router with ease. But my room pc doesnt seem to want to connect to the router. I dont know what im doing wrong. The adapter is a netgear USB MA101 802.11b. Is it because its a netgear? It seems to pick up the signal... but it wont connect. Something isnt right. I know its not the router because it connected to the laptop with ease... so what gives??!! Any help would be awesome... thanks

a mention of what OS you are using would be helpful.

Sounds like a settings problem to me, wireless cards are usually fairly compatible so I wouldn't think it was that, although you can never be sure.

make sure you have all the drivers for the usb one, call linksys and they will help you even though its not both their products
