I'm pretty sure I've got this all figured out, but I have a question about dvds before I go out and waste money buying something I wont be able to use. what's the difference between dvd- and dvd+? and which one is better for burning ps2 games?

@4SKIN

Listen to me mate. ive been in the business for years, i DO know what i'm talking about, you just cant go wrong with ritek dvd's. if he is doing what he is doing currently and using ritek's, his computer may possibly have a serious error, either that or he may have something wrong with his ps2.
ritek's are obviously not as good as originals..everyone knows that .what kind of a clueless statement is that. he wants to know the best quality media you can purchase and burn yourself, he wants to play backups, original disks have nothing to do with his question. As far as we're concerned ritek IS the equivalent to original ps2 disks for a modded ps2, anything else IS rubbish.
I know what i'm talking about, you dont.

I know what i'm talking about, you dont.
your the one that made that statement, not me,maybe you need to re0read your original post

and as for me not knowing what i am talking about, well that is a matter of opinion
i have been backing up games well before most people.so i think i have somne sort of idea what i am saying
i have tested pretty much every brand of disk/dye you can get

ritek are are 2nd rate media, they stopped using the best dye, some time ago.

ty's are verbatims with dye from japan are the best

i am not saying ritek are totally useless.but do your homework, before making statements like that,or at least have the knowledge or proof to back it up

i tell u this: i read that u burn and dump so much cds and dvds i
ll explain it simply:

use sonic record now deluxe use the discopy copy option.. if source game on cd then insert a cdr media same about dvd media games.

if u get then into the menu and u get disc read error u need to replace lens.

thats a common problem of the ps2-console. $ony made it on purpose i assume, putting short life lens in its ps2.

try also to read a dvdr movie. if it also doesnt detect the media and gives u a disc read error then u should replace lens.. look at ***********.progamer.cc
for lens type.
