I have been using the 2 for all update for the pioneer A03 with g3 media for a while.

As you increase the recording speed on this drive it also increases the laser intesity to compensate (Tell me if I am wrong). On my drive the laser apprears to overcompensate and you can see in places where the dye seems to run giving different coloured spots on the disc.

Please examine the bottom of the dvdr after your burn to see if you have any patches which look like watermarks.

Thats usualy caused by dust either on the disc or in the drive, And the A05/105 is capable of writing at 4x speed so i cant see any problems writing at 2x speed. Bear in mind that the 105 like the sony was capable of writing ritek go3 discs at 2x and only the firmware on the 105 prevented this, So i cant see any problems.
